Alpha-1 is a genetic, inherited liver disorder that can cause cirrhosis in babies, children, and adults, and emphysema in adults. There are an estimated 100,000 individuals in the U.S. at risk for Alpha-1 disease, yet fewer than 10% have been correctly diagnosed. In addition, 25 million people nationwide may be carriers of the Alpha-1 gene.  No cure currently exists for this devastating disorder. Early detection is important, as lifestyle changes may be helpful in prolonging good health.

We have an annual golf tournament that is our biggest fundraising project. Please join us on Friday, August 1, 2008.

The National Alpha-1 Conference is June in San Francisco, CA. It is affordable, extremely educational & fun. Join us in the city by the Bay.

This is still a work in progress so visit often to see what we will be adding!
